Watching BBC click the other month there was an feature on augmented reality (AG) and how far it had progressed but was still to find commercial application.

This got me thinking about retailers. There are still a number of companies that send mail shots out to possible customers. With the average number of smart phones and iPads rising every day, why not send out a promo flyer and a marker? The non-tech friendly can still see what you are promoting but those with a more technology based approach could have a truly memorable initial experience with your company. Imagine the marker arrives, typically gets ripped open and thrown on the table for an hour or so before being tidied up. Imagine there’s then marker that says scan me to see? A percentage of the curious would possibly connect and then see the 3-D image/animation that your company has prepared. What better way to get people talking about your company?
